You are invited to attend the third annual Pathogen Genomics Symposium hosted by the Center for Pathogen Genomics and Microbial Evolution.

The 3rd Annual Pathogen Genomics Symposium, hosted by the Robert J. Havey, MD Institute for Global Health’s Center for Pathogen Genomics and Microbial Evolution, will include two days of scholarly events, including a pathogen genomics workshop, research talks, flash talks, keynote address, poster session, and reception. "Name Our Sequencers!” Contest

The CPGME has recently acquired a second Illumina MiSeq sequencer. This has greatly increased our pathogen sequencing capacity but has also raised the problem of how to best tell the two identical instruments apart! We are not satisfied continuing to call them “Left MiSeq” and “Right MiSeq”, so please help us give the sequencers proper names.

You may suggest one pair of names for the two Illumina MiSeq sequencers below. If you would prefer to suggest names after completing your registration, please email your entries (along with your name, phone number, and email address) to cpgme@northwestern.edu.

Entries will be accepted until 5:00 PM CST, April 22nd, 2024. The CPGME staff will select up to three pairs of names from among the submitted entries. Voting for the winning pair of names will take place during the symposium on April 24th 2024 and will be announced by 2:30 PM following the Keynote Address. The winner will receive a naming certificate and a $10 Amazon gift card. Only those registered for the 3rd Annual Pathogen Genomics Symposium will be eligible to win.
